“Pandamania” VBS: Where God Is Wild About You
A few years ago, psychologists interviewed children about God. Many of the children expressed a simple but deep hope: that God knows them personally, even by name. It is striking how often children carry some of the same questions adults do. Does God really hear me? Does He care about me personally? One eight-year-old girl named Eve said, “I wish God had a phone so that I could talk to him, because I don’t know if he hears me when I’m praying.”
At times, adults wonder the same thing.
The Bible reminds us that God’s love is deeply personal. He knows every ache in our hearts, every doubt in our minds and every hair on our heads. Psalm 139:3 says, “You are familiar with all my ways.”
Here at Connections, we want children to know that God truly loves them. In fact, He is wild about them. He listens when they pray, cares for them tenderly and invites them into friendship with Him. Jesus wants to be their forever friend, and those truths can shape a child’s heart for years to come.
That is part of the heart behind our Pandamania VBS this summer. Over two fun-filled evenings, children will experience Bible stories, music, crafts, games and hands-on activities designed to help them encounter God’s love in meaningful and memorable ways. There will be laughter, energy, creativity and yes, probably a little messiness too. Along the way, kids will also spend plenty of time with some fun-loving pandas.
Each evening offers a complete experience, and children are welcome to attend one or both nights. Parents may even enjoy a little quiet time while their children are off having a Bamboo Blast at Connections.
