Nepal Mission Trip 2025

Nepal Mission Trip 2025

November 12, 2025

As part of our Giving Trees outreach this year, Connections Church is blessed to support the work of Elizabeth Kipgen as she prepares for her December 2025 mission trip to Nepal. Elizabeth has been serving our church family through the Family Ministry and the Media Team with a faithful and willing heart. We are grateful for her ministry among us and honored to support her as she prepares for this mission trip.

In this newsletter, Elizabeth shares her plans for teaching, counseling and outreach along with ways we can pray for her and the churches she serves. We invite you to read her update with a heart of prayer, trusting that God will use these efforts to bring comfort, healing and the good news of Jesus to many.

Nepal Mission Trip Newsletter

Dearest Friends in Christ,

I deeply appreciate your prayers and patience as I’ve been preparing this year’s mission plan for December 2025. Over the past few months, I have been praying and coordinating with the leaders and teachers in Nepal and India to organize the upcoming mission trip.

This year, my mission focus will be in Nepal, as the roads to Manipur, India remain unsafe. It truly breaks my heart that I cannot visit my own village and meet my people in India. I had earnestly hoped to comfort them through counseling and care, but due to ongoing dangers, I must wait. I continue to pray that peace will be restored in the coming years so that we can once again plan a mission trip there. If there are any changes in the plan, I will share them with you all.

Ministry Plan Overview:

  • Vacation Bible School (VBS) at Bethel EC Church, Dharan – December 18–19, 2025
  • Seminar: “Mental Health Support Needed in the Church” at Nepal New Covenant Church Bible College
  • Teaching & Awareness Camps: First-Aid and Menstrual Health Awareness Campaigns at Mother English Boarding School, Dharan
  • Field Visits to ECCN Churches for fellowship and encouragement
  • Sermon Preparation and Ministry Activities: Preaching in various fellowships and organizing programs for Christmas and New Year celebrations

Vacation Bible School

Theme: The Greatest Gift of Christmas is Jesus

“I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people.” — Luke 2:10

Friends, how did you come to know Jesus? I first met Jesus in Sunday School. Even now, as an adult, songs like “My God is so big, so strong, and so mighty — there’s nothing my God cannot do” and verses such as Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” continue to guide and strengthen me when life gets hard. My faith took root because of the love and teaching of my Sunday School teachers — and for that reason, children’s ministry is so close to my heart. Children are the future of the church, of a noble society, and of the world; therefore, it is vital to invest in their care and upbringing.

This year’s VBS will serve as both a teacher training and children’s outreach program. The teacher training will focus on planning, organizing, team building, creativity, and understanding the spiritual responsibilities that go beyond classroom teaching. We also plan to present certificates of appreciation to teachers for their dedication, and certificates of participation to all children.

My students from the last VBS will be co-leading alongside me as teachers this year. Presently, some of the serve as worship leaders, Sunday School teachers & others teach in our mission school. I am beyond grateful to God for His faithfulness over His children.

We are expecting around 150 children to attend. This will be a wonderful opportunity to share the true gospel of Jesus Christ in a way that children can understand and receive Him into their hearts. On the final day, we will hold a special altar call and offer a time of blessing, christening, and baptism, led by our church pastor. Please continue to pray that God’s presence and power move mightily among us during this mission.

Friends, the children in Nepal are very poor and hungry. Many are orphans and live in very difficult conditions. We will need to bring children from 22 churches located in different parts of Nepal so that we will have unifying hearts to serve God.

Seminar

“The Need for Mental Health Support in Churches”

I will be conducting a seminar on “The Need for Mental Health Support in Churches” during this mission trip to Nepal. Over the past months, I have been taking additional training and attending seminars alongside my courses to prepare for this. I have also been consulting pastors and professors to gather resources and insights.

This seminar will focus on anxiety, depression, grief, and suicidality—issues that are deeply affecting the church today. Nearly every second home in our mission area carries a story of suicide, which makes this need urgent. I will also train participants in grief counseling, so they can use these skills in youth groups, men’s ministries, and women’s fellowships.

In addition, I plan to purchase a few counseling books for the seminary students to help them build a foundation in Christian counseling. If you would like to share or donate resource books, please feel free to reach out to me.

May everything, we do bring healing, hope, and glory to God.

Teaching and Awareness Camps

First-Aid and Menstrual Health Awareness Campaigns

Mother English Boarding School, Dharan

Mother English Boarding School is our new mission school, established to help support our ministry financially. I will be teaching elementary and middle school students and conducting awareness campaigns on menstrual health and first aid to equip them with essential knowledge often missing in their communities.

Since the school has just started, we don’t yet have proper infrastructure or high enrollment, so we hope and pray that these campaigns will leave a lasting impact and serve as promotional activities for the next academic session.

If the budget allows, I also hope to donate a First-Aid Box to the school and provide basic medicines for the students. For the girls, my goal is to give at least one packet of sanitary pads each, as many cannot afford these essentials.

My elder sister Hannah currently serves as the school’s Principle along with our Evangelical Leadership Training Center. Please pray for her ministry.

Through these practical acts of care, we aim to meet real needs while sharing Christ’s love and laying a foundation for the school’s growth.

Field Visit and Ministry Activities

As part of our mission, we will be visiting few of the 22 ECCN churches to offer fellowship, encouragement, and support to church leaders and members. During these visits, we hope to listen to their stories, pray with them, and provide counseling care wherever it is needed with God’s guidance.

Women’s fellowship in our humble branch Cana EC Church. Many of our churches need land and buildings for service, kindly remember in your prayers!

In addition, I will be preparing and delivering sermons in various fellowships and organizing programs for Christmas and New Year celebrations. These moments will be opportunities to share God’s love, celebrate His faithfulness, and encourage the hearts of both leaders and congregants.

With love and faith,
Elizabeth Kipgen
