"Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
~ Jesus, Matthew 11:28-30
There's a solution to the overworked, overwhelmed, running-on-empty frenetic pace of life. But you don't want the solution. Because chances are you already know the solution.
It's called Sabbath.
It means stop.
Rest.
Worship.
Trust.
This Sunday I'm excited to share a message called "The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry." (It's a quote from Dallas Willard.)
It's also my last Sunday preaching before my Sabbatical- a summer of rest and re-connecting with Jesus, my family, and myself.
This Summer we're going to "Let Go and Let God." What does that mean? It means giving your whole self to God. It means making Jesus the Lord of your life. It means throwing out some things that have become idols. It means letting go of anything that is holding you back from the life God wants for you.
