Job Title: Family Ministry Director
Location: Connections Church, Highlands Ranch, CO
Reports to: Full-time Senior Pastor
Preferred start date: April 1, 2026
Overview: Connections Church is a growing, multi-ethnic, family-centered community seeking a Jesus-centered Family Ministry Director to shepherd and teach children (infants through elementary).
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Family Ministry Director to lead and inspire our community’s family and children’s programs. You will nurture kids’ spiritual growth, equip and support parents, recruit and train volunteers, and expand our ministry through Sunday programs, midweek activities, outreach events, and summer camp.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Sunday children’s ministry programming (planning, teaching, and oversight).
- Develop programming that honors and celebrates the ethnically diverse backgrounds of our children and families.
- Develop age-appropriate curriculum and classroom structure for toddlers through elementary.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and care for volunteers-nursery and classrooms; ensure volunteer compliance with safety policies.
- Coordinate midweek programs, seasonal events, outreach activities, and summer camp logistics.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians and the pastor.
- Partner with the senior pastor to align ministry strategy with church vision.
Time Commitment & Compensation:
- Typical: 5 – 10 hours/week (includes Sunday mornings from 9:00 – 11:00 am; additional hours for midweek events, planning, and summer camp). Exact weekly hours may vary with programming needs.
- Pay: $21–$23/hour, dependent on experience and agreed time commitment. (Non-exempt hourly position.)
Qualifications:
- Active follower of Jesus and affirms Connections Church’s statement of faith (membership preferred but not required).
- Associate degree preferred; bachelor’s degree or equivalent ministry/education experience welcomed.
- 3+ years of experience in children’s ministry or similar preferred.
- Skills: strong organization and communication abilities; able to develop lesson plans using approved curriculum; capable of providing volunteer leadership and able to effectively teach toddlers through elementary aged children.
- Certifications preferred: CPR/First Aid. Must pass background check and complete child-safety training.
