Welcome to our Community Gardens!

Our Community Garden features 32 beautifully maintained raised garden beds, each measuring 4’ by 8’ and equipped with their own irrigation drip system. Located in an open space area with full sunlight throughout the day, these garden beds are the perfect place to cultivate fresh produce while enjoying the beauty of nature and fellowship with other gardeners.

So why does Connections Church have a Garden Ministry?

This ministry isn’t just about plants—it’s about growing faith, community, and care for others in a tangible way.

  • We enjoy planting and watching the seeds and plants grow into a delightful harvest of organic produce.
  • It allows us to grow fresh food to enjoy personally and to share with those from our church and community who may be in need, fulfilling the biblical call to care for others.  See more about our Farm to Table opportunity below.
  • We engage our church children to plant the pumpkin patch each year! The pumpkins are then used for our community Pumpkinfest in October.
  • Our gardens foster relationships and community, bringing people together to care for their gardens. We engage with others from our local neighborhood, building relationships beyond our church walls.  We plan events to enjoy times of fellowship, food, and fun!
  • It’s educational!  Our experienced gardeners encourage those who are learning how to garden.  Gardening tips are also shared through our email communication.
  • For many of our gardeners, it is a treasured time to be in nature, enjoying God’s creation.
  • Overall, gardening can provide physical, emotional, and spiritual healing, reflecting God’s restorative power. It is a practical way to teach patience, faith, and the principle of sowing and reaping, both physically and spiritually.

We currently have a few beds available for rent.  The cost to rent a garden bed is $55/year and the rental contract is from April 1 to November 1.

Farm to Table Project - Growing to Give

As an extension of our Community Gardens, the Farm to Table Project is dedicated to giving back to others. We set aside special garden beds solely for growing fresh, organic food to share with our congregation and community.

Want to make a difference? You can get involved in a variety of ways:
🌱 Join the Farm to Table Team – Help tend the garden beds during the week or volunteer on Sundays (mid-July through September) to distribute fresh produce to our church attendees.  We encourage our church attendees to also share the produce with their neighbors and start a conversation!
🎃 Be Part of Our Pumpkin Patch Team – 12 of our garden boxes are dedicated space to growing pumpkins for our annual October Pumpkinfest! Volunteers are welcome to help plant, nurture, and maintain the patch throughout the summer.
👩‍🍳 Help Plan an Event – Assist in organizing our Garden Kickoff or one of our exciting events, like the Chef Challenge!  Events are subject to interest and sign-ups.
📧 Assist with Communication – Help keep our gardeners informed with gardening tips and recipes.

Every volunteer makes a difference, and we’d love for you to be part of this rewarding, community-driven mission.
