“Scratch any cynic and you will find a disappointed idealist.” ~George Carlin

Has cynicism been an issue for you or anyone you know? What lead to
cynicism? What impact has cynicism had on relationships and faith?

Read Ecclesiastes 1 and 2. Existentialists and cynics love the book of
Ecclesiastes. Are the words of this book prescriptive or descriptive? Advice or
warnings? What can we learn, and what can we apply, from this book?

George gave three "hacks" to kill cynicism: Thanksgiving, curiosity and service.

Thanksgiving: What can you do to be more intentional in giving thanks in the coming season?

Curiosity: How can you cultivate curiosity through quiet time and questions?

Service: Decide to do something selfless in service between now and
Christmas. Cynicism ultimately kills hope, faith and joy. But resurrection can kill cynicism. Stay focused on the risen Jesus and your own resurrection life!
