"Once you were not a people,
but now you are the people of God."
~ 1 Peter 2:10
Turns out that something we've been talking about for a long time is essential for mental health and wellness...
Connection.
Specifically, social connection.
We need to be seen.
Known.
Accepted.
Loved.
Part of something bigger than just me.
Yet embraces me as essential.
God has been inviting us to be part of something big-
A chosen people.
A holy nation.
A special possession.
This Sunday you are invited to be a part of it too!
"Cast all your anxiety on Him
because He cares for you."
~ 1 Peter 1:7
We've all said it...
"I'm Fine."
Actually, I'm not.
You're not.
No one is "just fine."
We all have anxieties, struggles, temptations and more.
If you think you're alone, you're not.
If you believe asking for help is weakness, it's not.
If you've been told that Christians don't need counseling,
that you just need to pray about it more,
that it's unfaithful to take medication...
That's wrong.
Throughout May we will be talking about the intersection of faith and mental health. The bible has much to say about the mental health and wellness.
