"His face shone like the sun,
and his clothes became as white as the light"
~ Matthew 17:2
If you read Matthew, Mark, and Luke,
all will bring you to a moment called "the transfiguration."
It's peculiar to say the least.
It almost feels out of context with the the rest of the story.
Why does Jesus pull aside these disciples?
Why do dead prophets appear?
Why does Peter want to build a tent?
The transfiguration is the answer to the question…
“Who is Jesus?"
And that answer changes everything.
Lent.
A season to repent, fast and serve.
It's not for everyone.
But it should be.
We can all benefit from a season of self-examination, self-sacrifice and selflessly serving others.
