Being a part of the church is so much more than Sunday morning. We believe that being in relationships is an essential part of every Christ-follower’s life. Connection Groups are strategic for this mission in at least three different ways:
- A place to BELONG. Belonging is perhaps the greatest human desire and need. To know that we belong to God, that we belong in a community of people, and that we have a common sense of belonging together in God’s world.
- A place to GROW. In Connection Groups we can grow our faith. This happens through Bible study and prayer. By digging deeper into the sermons and discussing the reasons why we believe what we do. The goal is to grow in the character of Christ in each person.
- A place to SERVE. We desire these groups to be a place to reach out and serve. We can serve the people in our group and in our community through word and deed.
Weekly Connection Home Groups
Sunday worship provides the content while Home Groups provide the context to dig, discuss and apply. Each Sunday we’ll provide a bible reading and several discussion questions. In theory anyone can attend the worship service, bring people together, and lead/create a Connection Group. The primary benefit of a sermon based format is that everyone who attends the worship service comes prepared for group. Whether you’ve been a Christian for years, or if you’re just beginning to explore Christianity, this format puts everyone on a level gathering field. All of the home groups are self-led by the members so they may vary from group to group, however the general structure for the gatherings includes sharing a meal followed by a sermon/series based discussion. Child care is shared among the group members.
