Advent 2024

advent-2024-web
Join us this Advent season, December 1–25, as we prepare our hearts for the birth of Christ.
Through special services, devotionals, and beloved traditions, we’ll reflect on God’s love and the joy of Christmas together. Let’s come together to worship, serve, and celebrate this season of hope and anticipation.
Advent Devotional:

We have the Once A Day / 25 Days of Advent devotional booklet for each household. Please stop by the Welcome Table for your copy or order your copy on Amazon if you won’t be with us in person over the next few weeks.. The devotional includes a daily Scripture message, a short meditation and a prayer for each day of Advent, December 1 – 25.

Advent Theme:

This Advent season, our theme is God Preparing for the Birth of His Son. Our services will include beloved traditions, such as lighting the Advent Candle and decorating the Jesse Tree. Each Sunday, we’ll have readings related to the Jesse Tree and will hang ornaments on our tree, with the children joining in to help on December 15 and 22.

Special Advent Events:

November 17 – Children’s Church Ministry activity

The kids will packing shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child – Families are welcome to bring items to put in the shoe boxes and to send along shoe boxes to fill.  Pastor John will lead prayer over the boxes with the kids at the end of Sunday Service.

November 24 – Thanksgiving Service

Pastor John’s message: Let’s Celebrate.

In all our celebrations, believers also celebrate what God has done. This was done during the Purim holiday. Today, when we celebrate any occasion, including Thanksgiving, we direct our thanks and praise to God for what he has done.

After the service, children will help decorate the giving trees in the lobby. 🎄🎄🎄

November 24 – Community Blood Drive,  10:00 am – 2:00 pm.

Link for more information and to register online, or speak directly to Joe Unrein.

November 28 – Thanksgiving Day, no worship at the church

December 1 – Last day to bring Giving Tree gifts to the church

December 8 – College and Career Ministry meeting

Meet at the Roth’s to assemble goody bags for Open Door Ministries.

December 15 – Children’s Worship Service

The kids have been working hard with Ally Brennan (in addition to be an amazing singer and percussionist on Sunday mornings, she is also a music teacher 🙂 and are excited to share some special songs with us during Sunday Service. Come and enjoy their joyful performance as they share with us in worship!

December 24 – Christmas Eve Service at 4:00 p.m.

  • Christmas Message: “God’s Army”
  • Children will join the service, and worship bags will be provided.
  • Afterwards, stay for our Hot Chocolate and Popcorn Bar!
